Home,Home on the Range...

Hey,
Sorry I didn't update you when we got home. Yes, we are home and the chickens are running around free...everything here smells of spring! Its wonderful!!
Our trip home was uneventful just like we like it to be. We made wonderful time even with all the stops we had. We had one big stop in Ohio to pick up a truck for GOV. It is a Ford F-350 cab, full bed, and a diesel, so yea this thing was a beast of a truck! Megan didn't want to drive so Ted and I got to race to NY. Ok not really he got to follow behind to make sure we didn't do anything irrational. hahah...Anyway, we also stopped for lunch at this great mexican place, and then we had to stop for gas and lattes, and then gas again....We got in around 10:30pm. Ted and I both thought it was going to be later, but none of the troppers seemed to be in the mood to pull us over. Either that or their radar guns were off. Let me explain. We were driving through Buffalo when all of a sudden I noticed Ted wasn't behind us anymore. Just as I had that thought I looked in my mirror and saw a tropper.(I was doing at least 15 mph over the speed limit.) All this took place within like 40 sec. cause Megan's phone rang and it was Ted telling us that the tropper has been behind us for awhile....hmmm...he just wanted to get around us. That's it..not ticket just a slight wake up call to pay attention. Even Ted noticed when he was speeding home that they didn't pull out to pull him over. Yes, we are postive they gunned us at high speeds...it is a bit odd if you ask me, but I am very grateful! (( =
Now we are home back to the same routine as before. My next trip isn't planned till May, so hopefully we will do something worth taking a picture for!!
Hope your enjoying Spring cause the first offical day is friday!! Hooray!!!

Oh,My Aching Feet....

I have forgotten what it is like to stand on concrete all day long, so my feet are so tired and sore. Such is the price to pay for helping at a conference.(( = Our day was extremely busy selling books, tshirts, jewelry etc....Ted and I did get a quick brake, so we ran to Starbucks for everyone. Haha, hey! its totally a must when you don't get much sleep. Our day started early and it is now 11:17 pm (IL time), so it does make for a long day.
At this particular conference a music group called GoFish is here, and I really enjoy their music. They sing kids songs and their harmony is wonderful to hear!! I'm going to get Denver some CD's for his birthday...shhh! don't tell him. Anyway, they did a concert tonight so that was a nice brake to hear them! Even if they do sing kids songs. (( =
Ok...it was a long day like I said and if you have ever been to any kind of convention then you know that they are crazy busy..so Im going to say goodnight...

We Made It Safely...

Ok so the pictures I promised..well, I walked out of the house without the camera, so no pictures. Sorry.
We are very glad that we are here, despite the fact it is very cold. All well, the first day of Spring is still a week away.
Anyway, Ted and I left home around 3:30pm and pulled into Bloomington, Illionise at 6:06 am. It was a long drive but we made excellent time. It helps that we don't tend to stop. We stopped for dinner, then gas, and the last time was to wake ourselves up cause it was getting late/early. We originally thought we wouldn't get in till like 8am this morning, but besides the fact they are one hour behind us and there wasn't any traffic helped our timing immensely.
After we got here we checked in and caught about a hour of sleep before breakfast and set up. It was so nice catching up with our Generation of Virtue friends, and getting to go to a different convention; other then NYS LEAH Convention back at home. It took a huge portion of the day to set up the booth and get all the books, sign, tshirts, jewelry etc...set up, but we "Got-R-Done". When we finished we went to a cool restaurant for dinner. Not before having a police escort there. Sara's GPS wasn't or isn't working in this city for some reason wasn't sure where the restaurant was, and there just so happened to be a cop following us. (( = They asked him for directions and he gave them, but then he just said, "follow me", and away we went. It was very funny!
When dinner was done most of us went back to the hotel. While Katherine and I had to go to Kinkos and Walmart.
Then we finally, made it back to the hotel. I immediately put my pj's on and chilled in bed. While, Ted was on the phone and watching the SU game. Which turned out to be an awesome game...GO SU!!
So that about sums up day one....kind of..(( = Will see what's in store for today.

Busy,Busy,Busy

I don't know why I wait so long to update my blog? Ok part of it is because I am busy, but that isn't any excuse! Why? because I get on line alot....hmmm....
Ok so let me think.....oh, the last time I wrote I was having a super crazy weekend. Well let me tell you that the week after was just as busy! Maybe thats because I had my first car accident? Wait! That doesn't sound quite right....well, I guess I was in a car and it was an accident....So this is the story. I was backing out of a driveway using a friends car. ( I was watching some kids and they let me use their family car.) Well, the kids where going at each other in the back, so I stopped the car and addressed them. After, I didn't take the time to make sure I was safe from all harm...or on the driveway. Well, I wasn't on the driveway and I ran into their BRICK mailbox. You know when you drive through a rural area and you see those nice brick mailboxes...it was like that. Smashed to the ground!! The back of the car...not so nice! I was driving a Cadillac, too. Oh man! I was so bummed!!Nothing I could do so I dropped the kids off and went to work...No one was hurt, but the very thought of hitting something with someone elses car was nauseating!! The owners handled it pretty well......
What else...Ted and I will be taking a trip next week. We are heading to Illinois. A state we have driven in but never stayed in, so mark it on the map!! We are going to a homeschool convention. We are both looking forward to some time away from home. Maybe it will cure my itch to travel that I have been stuffing back into the closet. Which isn't an easy thing to do!!!!!
I got asked to be in an Easter Cantata this year. I am so excited!! I haven't sung in any choir type thing in a long time. Im even considering a solo part.(GASP!) Im trying to convince Ted to participate...will see how that goes.
The search for my special kitten is still on. My mom did come across a family who had long haired kittens a couple of weeks ago, so when they are ready we will take a drive to where ever they live and check them out. I am looking for a special one...so if its not there then I will continue my search!
I also put an application in to work at our local BOCES. They are looking for teacher aides, and as I am sensing I'll be in the area for a couple of years.(I got to resave some money) I thought that it would help me get some hands on teaching experience. Especially, if I am going to go to Europe and teach. The more experience you have the better qualified you are....Will see, the lady I talked to said they are going over the applications March 6th. The only thing is I am not done with my nanny position till June. Who knows what can happen...but I am open to anything...
Well, this is getting long and if your like me you lost interest about half way and started skimming...(( =
